Right-hand executive assistant to the renowned senior rabbi of an innovative, forward-thinking, substantial, and dynamic midtown synagogue.

This organization truly practices tikkun olam - "repairing the world." - being involved in social action programs, social justice groups, as well as an on-site Men's Shelter and Emergency Food Program. They are a leading voice and influencer in the Jewish reform movement.

Among your many responsibilities:
• You will be the first contact for members, visitors and callers to the clergy office.
• Schedule using Outlook and other calendar management systems.
• Coordinate meetings and appointments.
• Write and maintain correspondence with confidentiality and diplomacy.
• Coordinate the rabbi's interaction and provide administrative coordination to congregants for their religious lifecycle events: Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, funerals, shivas and conversions.
• Coordinate life cycle events with all clergy (rabbi, cantor, assistant rabbi), ensuring that they are informed of such events and have them listed on their calendars.
• Be able to support rabbi in lead up to Jewish holidays as workload increases.
• Interface with other staff, including other clergy and administration.
• Liaison with committees and, where appropriate, prepare meeting agendas.
• Prepare weekly list of religious announcements for the pulpit.
• Prepare and print weekly bulletins of synagogue events and programs as well as monthly newsletters, both print and online. Mail merge skills are essential.
• Coordinate details of rabbi's travel.
• Coordinate details of community/ congregational trips and missions.
• Coordinate details for annual community seder.
• Order supplies as needed.

In order to be a viable candidate, you should: be a college graduate; have at least 3 years’ executive support experience; have strong communications (written and oral), and organizational skills; have excellent Word and mail merge skills (essential!), Excel, Outlook, and have a working knowledge of creating and sending e-blasts.

You should have nuanced familiarity with the Jewish community, traditions and culture.

Attendance at Friday night services twice a month and during the high holy days as needed.

Salary range: $65,000 to $95,000 - fully-paid health benefits, and a 403 (b).
